Development into the Unique Device Identification system or UDI is on a fast track now.   Five of the biggest Health Care IT groups have combined in the Healthcare Transformation Group or HTG to take on the task of the implementation of the UDI.    What this means for health care technology is the ability to track medical devices and show the positive impact they are having.

This is a big step towards learning what works in our health care system.   The flood of information from this program will require highly trained healthcare information technology professionals skilled in both fields of healthcare and computer science.
