Nurse Management Certification Course Requirements & Fees
To be eligible to participate in the nurse manager certification program, all applicants must meet the prerequisite below. Those who need additional verification of existing credentials can fill out our qualification review form.
- A registered nurse currently licensed to practice nursing.
The nurse manager certification lasts for four years, and AIHCP provides health care recertification courses for those looking to renew their credentials. Fellowship status is also available from AIHCP, which requires 250 hours of continued education over six years from the date of the application for our health care fellowship program.
The program itself consists of seven required CE courses, which will cost a total of $1,025 and include the courses below. After completing the courses there is a certification fee for nurse manager certification of $220, plus shipping and handling, which includes the official certificate, ID card, and other related documents. The nurse manager courses include the following:
- HM 500 – Organizational Behavior
- HM 510 – Health Care Delivery Systems
- HM 520 – Human Resource Management in Health Care
- HM 530 – Leadership in Health Care Management
- HM 540 – Budgeting & Finance for Health Care Managers
- HM 550 – Insurance, Reimbursements & Managed Health Care
- NM 600 – Nursing Management: Theory & Practice
Professionals who complete the course and receive their certification can add the initials NM-CSp after their name and may use the title: “Certified Specialist in Nursing Management.” Furthermore, they will receive an additional certification from AIHCP and may use the initials/credential HCM-C, after their names, and may use the title: “Certified Health Care Manager”
Renewing Your Nurse Management Certification
AIHCP credentials expire after four years, and we offer recertification CE courses for professionals looking to stay on the cutting edge of the industry. The recertification fee is $220, plus shipping and handling, and requires applicants to obtain at least 50 hours of continuing education for healthcare professionals.
