Anger Management Specialist Courses, Requirements, and Prices

To join AIHCP’s anger management specialist certification program, you need to meet specific experience requirements. You can fill out our qualification review form to see if your current experience and credentials meet our criteria. Otherwise, you need to have meet one of the following prerequisites:

  • Have an active license to practice as a healthcare professional
  • At a minimum, hold an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas:
    • Psychology
    • Counseling psychology
    • Human services
    • Sociology
    • Religious studies
    • Behavioral health
    • Social services
    • Crisis intervention
    • Expressive art therapy
    • Grief or bereavement
    • Hypnotherapy
    • Public health
    • Holistic health
    • Health coaching
    • Other similar fields

The program itself consists of five required CE courses, which will cost a total of $900 and include the courses below. After completing the courses there is a certification fee for Anger Management Specialist Certification of $220, plus shipping and handling, which includes the official certificate, ID card, and other related documents. After passing the program, you can fill out our application for certification to become certified with AIHCP for a period of four years. With the certification, you can use the initials/credentials “AMS-C”, or “Certified Anger Management Specialist” after your name. 

AIHCP also offers healthcare fellowship status on top of the anger management specialist certification. Achieving the credential requires logging 250 hours of continued education over six years from the date of the application to the fellowship program. Once completed, you can add the “FAIHCP” or “Fellow in the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals in Anger Management” to your title.

 

Renewing Your Anger Management Specialist Certification

The anger management specialist certification is valid for four years from the date of your initial certification. In addition, you will need to get recertified within that time frame to continue the valid use of the credentials in your title. AIHCP offers a recertification program to enable continued use of the credentials, with a recertification fee is $220, plus shipping and handling, and you need to provide evidence of at least 50 contact hours of continuing education in the form of studies, lectures, and learning activities related to the anger management specialization. You will also have to show proof of at least 500 hours of practice, specifically with the manager management specialist certification, over the initial four-year certification period.
