While reading and studying this topic I have learned that conducting support groups can change dependent on the those who apart of the group and allowing professionals to learn at the same time.

    Yes and No! Whenever conducting support groups it's my understanding that the boundaries and scope of things should be set prior to the beginning of the group. Support Groups are generally not detail specific in respect to the discussion; however they are general in nature where each participant share general ideas and experiences to support those in attendance.

    I'm interested in doing the Grief Support Group certification. I am a substance abuse counselor and mostly do groups now, there is a lot of grief and trauma in the background of many substance abusers.
