Clinical Health Care Ethics Specialist Certification Course Requirements & Prices
Before enrolling into our ethics certification program, interested professionals meet or possess at least one of the following prerequisites for enrollment:
- a physician
- a registered nurse
- a social worker
- a psychologist
- a counselor
- a physical therapist
- a respiratory therapist
- a behavioral therapist
- Is in current practice as a licensed minister or any legal clerical representative of a religion.
- a certified grief counselor
- a certified pastoral thanatologist
- a credentialed hospital chaplain
- and/or one who holds a current position or relatively recent position as a health care executive or health care department director.
- Others would need to complete the Qualifications Review Request Form as provided below for an individual review to determine possible qualifications for entry into this certification program.

A certification from AIHCP remains valid for four years, with an option to renew through AIHCP’s health care recertification courses. This can involve participation in our courses designed for continuing education for healthcare professionals. Once completed, the candidate can add the “CHCES-C” credentials to their name which stands for “Clinical Health Care Ethics Specialist, Certified”.
The certification program itself consists of five required CE courses, which will cost a total of $850 and include the courses below. After completing the courses there is a certification fee for the clinical ethics specialist certification of $220, plus shipping and handling, which includes the official certificate, ID card, and other related documents.

Renewing Your Certification as a Clinical Health Care Ethics Specialist
Your certification is valid for four years from the date of your initial certification. To continue using the credentials after that time, you will need to become recertified, specifically via AIHCP’s recertification program. The recertification fee is $220, plus shipping and handling, and you need to provide evidence of at least 50 contact hours of continuing education in the form of studies, lectures, and learning activities related to professional ethics in a health care. You will also have to present proof of at least 500 hours of practice, specifically with the certification that you want to renew, over the initial four-year certification period.
