ALNC 660 – Advanced LNC IV : Advanced Consulting & Trial Preparation

Course Information

Overview: This final course in the compliment of advanced practice legal nurse consulting provides for review and further learning related to issues of plaintiff damages, vocational assessments for trial, pain and suffering, ethical issues in litigation, and the use of evidence and exhibits. Students will also study the role of the LNC in trial consulting, trial research, trial techniques and will examine strategies for assisting in voir dire, opening statements, witness questioning and closing arguments. The use of the internet in malpractice case research is also examined. Case examples are studied to allow for greater insights into the role of LNC’s in the trial process. Course Code: ALNC 660. 45 hours of continuing education credit.

Prerequisite: You must have successfully complete the continuing education course ALNC 600, ALNC 620, and ALNC 640.

TIME FRAME: You are allotted two years from the date of enrollment, to complete this course. There are no set time-frames, other than the two year allotted time. If you do not complete the course within the two-year time-frame, you will be removed from the course and an “incomplete” will be recorded for you in our records. Also, if you would like to complete the course after this two-year expiration time, you would need to register and pay the course tuition fee again.

GRADING: You must achieve a passing score of at least 70% to complete this course and receive the 45 hours of awarded continuing education credit. There are no letter grades assigned. You will receive notice of your score as “pass” or “fail”. Those who score below the minimum of 70% will be contacted by the American College of Legal Nurse Consulting and options for completing additional course work to achieve a passing score, will be presented.
