Benefits of Receiving a Life-Time Retirement Certification Status of the Certification Specialty
- You retain recognition of your Certification Specialty Achievement for a Life-time, in Retirement Status. Meaning you are no longer required to obtain CE hours for recertification while retaining recognition in retirement certification status.
- You may use the title of your certification as as long as you add “(Retired)” at the end of the title. For example, a Certified Grief Counselor who has entered retirement status now used the title “Certified Grief Counselor (Retired).”
- You may use the initials of your certification as long as you add “(ret)” at the end of the initials. For example, a Certified Grief Counselor – Retired, you may use the initials GC-C (ret).
- You may use your Retired Title and Initials on resumes, letters that you write, articles that you may publish, in media writings, and in other such communications.
- You remain a member in good-standing with The American Institute of Health Care Professionals.
- You will receive a one-time Retirement Certification Certificate suitable for framing as well as an officially, signed letter of your life-time Retirement Certification Status.
- You have the option to decide at anytime to come out of your retirement and enter back into professional practice. Please contact us about reactivating your certification from “retirement status” back to an “active status certification”. This will be evaluated on an individual basis and requirements will be reviewed with you.
- You will receive a Certificate of Retirement Certification, an official Letter of Verification of Status of your Retirement Certification and a wallet sized ID card of your Retirement Certification. The $160.00 fee includes the life-time status, all documents, the id card, as well as the shipping of your package. International shipping may incur increased costs.

What you may legally NOT do with your Retirement Certification Status in The American Institute of Health Care Professionals.
- You may not in anyway indicate that your retirement status certification is an active certification in your specialty practice by The American Institute of Health Care Professionals.
- If you would go back into Clinical Practice in your Profession in any capacity in which you are compensated as an employee, then you may NOT indicate that you are actively certified or that you are in retirement status of your Certification with the AIHCP. This would be a violation of this retirement status agreement with the American Institute of Health Care Professionals. You would not be able to utilize any retirement status titles or credentials in your clinical practice during the time of practice re-entry for which you are receiving paid compensation.
- If in your retirement you would choose to volunteer in a health care organization or a community organization, a church, a social organization, etc., you may use your retirement status title if you wish; however, you may not in anyway indicate that you are “actively” certified in your practice specialty with AIHCP.
- If during the time you are in “retirement” status of your certification specialty with AIHCP you violate the tenants of the agreement of “retirement” status, then you are committing an act of false advertising of self which is a gross violation of our Code of Ethics and cause to have your “retirement” status permanently revoked by AIHCP
