STATE WITH POSSIBLE REGULATION
The following States likely have language which prevent those who are not licensed health care/behavioral health professionals, from practicing hypnosis but have explicit guidelines for licensure exemption. It is strongly recommended that if you reside in any of the following states that you please contact your licensing board to ascertain if there are or are not any restrictions placed on the practice of hypnotism/hypnotherapy with your current license.

STATES THAT HAVE REGULATIONS
The following states do have regulations in place for the practice of hypnosis. State laws vary from state to state and each one is unique. These states very likely require “registration” and have specific criteria that must be met to register or these states may have laws which define who may or may not practice hypnosis. You will need to contact your state licensing agency to obtain further information.
