Health Care Leadership Certification Course Requirements & Prices

Before joining our Health Care Leadership Certification program, interested professionals need to have at least one of the following prerequisites for enrollment:

  • A registered nurse currently licensed to practice nursing.
  • A licensed social worker.
  • A health care licensed professional with a current and active license to practice
  • A health care provider with a minimum of a bachelors degree.
  • A licensed counselor or psychologist.
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, human services, or other health related field.
  • A health care/nurse manager/leader/charge nurse, supervisor/director.
  • A licensed allied health care professional.
  • A corporate trainer in health care.
  • A professional health care case manager.
  • A health care manager/supervisor or consultant.
  • A licensed physician.
  • Or is currently employed in a health care setting with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience and is in a position that includes management/supervisory duties; or is in a position in which a supervisor verifies that the current position is one in which the candidate has the potential to be assigned management responsibilities or be promoted to a position of management/supervision in the future.

A health care leadership certification from AIHCP lasts for four years, with an option to renew through our health care recertification courses. This can involve participation in our courses designed for continuing education for healthcare professionals. Once completed, the candidate can add the “HCL-C” credentials to their name which stands for “Certified Health Care Leader.

The program itself consists of three required CE courses, which will cost a total of $500 and include the courses below. After completing the courses there is a certification fee for the health care leadership certification of $220, plus shipping and handling, which includes the official certificate, ID card, and other related documents.

Renewing Your Certification in Health Care leadership

Your certification is valid for four years from the date of your initial certification. To continue using the credentials after that time, you will need to get recertified, specifically via AIHCP’s recertification program. The recertification fee is $220, plus shipping and handling, and you need to provide evidence of at least 50 contact hours of continuing education in the form of studies, lectures, and learning activities related to health care leadership. You will also have to show proof of at least 500 hours of practice, specifically with the certification that you want to renew, over the initial four-year certification period.
