The Palliative Care Specialist Program from AIHCP  opens the door for healthcare providers to expand their skills and knowledge in care of the sick and dying in nursing home, as well as, at home settings.  It address the skills necessary to not only care for the emotional needs of the elderly or dying patient but also their physical needs.

 

Palliative Care Certification Course Requirements & Prices

Before joining our Palliative Care Specialist Certification program, interested professionals need to have at least one of the following prerequisites for enrollment:

  • A registered nurse currently licensed to practice nursing
  • A licensed practical nurse
  • A licensed vocational nurse
  • A licensed social worker
  • A Licensed Occupational Therapist
  • A Licensed Speech Therapist
  • A professional counselor
  • A health care licensed professional
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in health care, human services, or psychology with career experience in these areas.
  • Is in current practice as a licensed minister or any legal clerical representative of a religion.
  • Other college degrees and licensure may be applicable if they are in a related area. Such cases are evaluated on an individual basis.

A Palliative Care Specialist Certification from AIHCP remains active for four years, with an option to renew and meet the CE requirements through our health care recertification courses.  Initial certification involve completion of AIHCP’s courses below. Once completed, the candidate can add the “PC-CSp.” credentials to their name which stands for “Certified Palliative Care Specialist.

The program itself consists of four required CE courses, which will cost a total of $650 and include the courses below. After completing the courses there is a certification fee of $220, plus shipping and handling, which includes the official certificate, ID card, and other related documents.

How to Renew Your Palliative Care Certification

Palliative Care Certification status from AIHCP expires after four years and requires become recertification to maintain your credential through AIHCP. You will need to obtain 50 or more continuing education hours and submit a minimum of 500 hours of practice with your current Palliative Care Certification. The cost for recertification is $220, plus shipping and handling, which should be including with the  submission of your application for recertification.
